If you've followed us since our start in November, thank you for stickin' it out with us! We're so glad that you're a part of our community. If you're new, or stumbled onto our site, no worries, you're welcome here too.
A little back story for those who've joined us along the way: Toledo Area Progressives began in a wave of frustration following the November election. We were angry, we were scared for the future, and we were ready to take action. Our first meeting packed the house at the Buddhist Temple of Toledo, and we listened to presenter after presenter remind us of the awesome work that's already being done in our community. We (well, at least I) left feeling inspired, but I also left wondering, "How much of this has always been here and I just didn't know about it?"
Since then, we've hosted some large meetings and learning opportunities, and we've hosted some social gatherings, and we enjoy a huge following on Facebook--over 3500 members! Because we have such a wide following of people with such diverse interests, needs, and time (which we love), our goal has become a little less spotlight and a little more traffic-light. What I mean by that is this: our goal here is to point you to the right people in your area who can help you make the impact you're trying to make.
So take a look around! We've got a calendar of upcoming events in the Northwest Ohio area. There's a contact form if you're trying to suggest meetings, want more information about a cause or organization, or want to get involved with us. There's this blog, which will serve as a microphone for local leaders, candidates, and citizens.
